Where are you from?
I am from Kangasala, Finland, and I graduated as a doctor in 1981, at University of Tampere. I am specialized in general medicine, internal medicine and geriatrics.
What would you like to tell about yourself?
I am married, have one daughter and three grandchildren. I work as a chief physician in Tampere City Hospital. I have worked with doctors outside EU for 15 years as a leader in Lääkäriksi Suomeen - kurssi.
Why is Tampere the best place to live?
Tampere is a beautiful city that is not too big. We have enough activities here and the business life is multidimensional.
Tell about your professional activities?
My professional activities are: my work as a chief physician, board member of the Heart Association in Pirkanmaa, council member in Duodecim (association for doctors’ education) and member of the municipal council in Kangasala.
What is your involvement in international activities?
I want to help health care workers to find education and jobs here in Tampere region.
What potential do you see for Tampere in the future?
I think Tampere could be an international city in the future. The population is growing and I hope the whole region could provide more jobs for both foreigners and Finns.
