Where are you from?
I am original from Nigeria. I have lived most part of my adult life in Finland and abroad.
What would you like to tell about yourself?
I believe life itself is a process with plenty of room for continuous development and improvement which is shaped by the people, things and society within it. I quest for knowledge and love to learn which is triggered by my curiosity to improve both personally and professionally. My work experience comes from my role as a project manager in an oil and real estate business sector in Nigeria. My first encounter with Finland was in 2003 and then after started my bachelor degree studies at Helsinki at the beginning of 2004. A lot has changed since 2003 to date. Perhaps these changes are as a result of the shift in strategy in both the public and private sector to the need to utilize and maximize the international talents and their network. Over the last 4 years ago since moving from Helsinki to Tampere, she has played a pivoted role as to what community building and networking should at all level of the society be model.
What makes Tampere special for you?
Tampere is an ambitious and metropolitan city yet still maintained her incredible views of lakes and illustrious nature. I am opportune to live in a city that offers me the opportunities to meet with amazing, respectable and hardworking people. The city also plays a positive part in my life development. There is a multicultural blend presence in this city. This is a good ingredient for growth, development and success. She (Tampere) is not a house for me but rather a HOME.
Tell about your professional activities?
Presently, I am working on a summer camp project that deals with international talents, a pioneer project work that tackles the challenges of climate change on sustainability and regulations within the EU, An English Course Leader with kids and volunteering.
What is your involvement in international activities?
Being a business development specialist, I help businesses explore opportunities to new market frontiers by consulting, promoting, advising companies on their strategic market entry into emerging markets, particularly in Africa. I am also part of a business ecosystem in Nigeria helping in events coordination and organization. I enjoy working with people from different heterogeneity background helping to solve problems from cases that affect businesses or society.
What is your mission as a Tampere Ambassador?
To help promote the city of Tampere as a viable place for doing business/study and assist businesses in Tampere expand their market abroad.
What potential do you see for Tampere in the future?
The city of Tampere is on the right path; by recognizing the needs for international talents and their network are as important as having natural resources at their disposal.
