Tampere Ambassador: Kaisu Keisala-Kaseja

Where are you from?

I’m from Soini, Southern Ostrobothnia, approximately 200 km to the north from Tampere.

What would you like to tell about yourself?

I moved back to Tampere in January 2016 after spending almost 10 years abroad, first in Vienna, Austria and then as a so-called digital nomad around the globe. So I'm kind of a new "tamperelainen" just like all of those who are moving to Tampere or visiting the city.

What makes Tampere special for you?

Tampere is a special place – it’s like living in a big city and in a small town at the same time. I especially love the Pispala area and the lakes! I also like the vivid business scene – although I’ve only been here for such a short time, I’ve already grown a strong business network and found many nice entrepreneur colleagues. I also study business management and entrepreneurship at the Tampere University of Applied Sciences. I love the wide range of possibilities for studies and hobbies here in Tampere!

Tell about your professional activities?

I'm a passionate business lady, ruling two companies – my own translation business under the name Kielikulkuri and I'm also a co-founder of an awesome co-working space called Teho-osasto together with my two entrepreneur colleagues. I have experience in entrepreneurship from two countries, Austria and Finland, and in starting a business and building a network. I'd like to invite all of you entrepreneurs and those who are interested in entrepreneurship to visit and join us in Teho-osasto!

What is your mission as a Tampere Ambassador?

I want to promote Tampere as a great place to work and do business and also share my knowledge and experience to the “newbies”.

What potential do you see for Tampere in the future?

Tampere has an awesome future ahead – you can already see that Tampere will be a great melting pot of entrepreneurs, students, new ideas and innovations.
