Where are you from?
I’m from England, born in London and then lived in Farnham south east England
What would you like to tell about yourself?
I moved to Tampere in 2004 and enjoy city and countryside life here in all seasons.
I’m a keen cyclist and fisherman and also play drums in a local blues band. My favourite sport is cricket and believe it or not I have played cricket here in Tampere!
What makes Tampere special for you?
Tampere is a place that is beautiful year round, fresh air, friendly people and plenty of nearby open space. As someone once said “a man who is tired of Tampere is tired of life”
The city’s industrial heritage is all around us and that makes for a very human and interesting living environment.
Then the city is surrounded by forests and lakes that are easy to access, so it soon feels like you’re in a different world.
Tell about your professional activities?
I am a Quality, Process & Project Management professional with over twenty years’ experience of managing quality and improvements across a wide range of disciplines. I am especially passionate about quality and improvement, always keen to apply my skills to manage quality and together with stakeholders ensure successful outcomes.
What is your involvement in international activities?
I have recently been working with Talent Tampere and a number of international participants in their programs. I also took part in the Kasvu Open competition working with persons from many different countries.
What is your mission as a Tampere Ambassador?
I want to increase awareness through my contacts of what Tampere has to offer, both in business and leisure.
What potential do you see for Tampere in the future?
Tampere is a centre of business and innovation, and attracts businesses from all over the world. I see that Tampere will continue to grow and flourish in this respect.
