Tampere3 higher education institutions enter into agreement on cross-institutional studies

A new higher education institution made up of Tampere University of Applied Sciences, Tampere University of Technology and the University of Tampere will start its operations on 1 January 2018. Closer cooperation is already pursued by offering degree students the opportunity to seek studies at the other Tampere3 institutions.

The UTA rector and the TUT and TAMK presidents signed an agreement on cross-institutional studies on 1 June. The agreement enables students to complete studies at the other Tampere3 institutions from autumn 2016 onwards.
Cross-institutional studies will expand the students’ opportunities to complete diverse courses according to their interests,” says Vice Rector Harri Melin of the University of Tampere.

Application will open in August 2016

Each higher education institution will offer a part of its study offerings as optional cross-institutional studies. The students will be able to view the available studies in a dedicated cross-institutional study service. In the service, all attending TAMK, TUT and UTA degree students can apply for the right to study for the available courses and study modules offered by the other higher education institutions.

The students are responsible to check with their home institution that the courses are appropriate for their degree. The cross-institutional study service and more detailed instructions for applying will be published on the Tampere3 website and the websites of the three higher education institutions in August.
